2 Month Checkup

As of August 9, Seth weighs 9 pounds 11.7 ounces and is 22 1/2 inches long!

He had to get 2 shots today which he absolutely hated!

But it’s all worth it for a healthy, growing little boy!

Seth’s 6 Week Checkup

Weight: 8 pounds 10 ounces

Length: 21 3/4 inches

He’s in the 25% for his weight and in the 50% for his length.

Our little guy is a-growing!

Gotta Love Surprises

Today when I got the mail, I found quite a few surprises:

All of these are from my co-workers at Independent: three cards and two gifts. It’s a blessing to be working with such an amazing group of caring and thoughtful people, even if I’m not there 90% of time.

Thank you, everyone! Both Joy and I greatly appreciate the thoughts and the gifts. Seth is pretty happy about them, too!

38 and 39 Weeks

I should have posted this much sooner, but we’ve been a little busy. 🙂

Seth’s 0th Birthday

We’ve been meaning to get these up for the past few days; here are photos from Seth’s journey into the world.

Maternity Photos

Joy and I had two opportunities to have maternity photos taken. The first set was done by our good friend Greta (photos with GL in the corner), and the other set was just of Joy by me. Continue reading…

38 Week Checkup

Over the past couple of days I have been feeling different. I have been noticing a lot more pressure on my stomach and just feeling off – even more than usual. At my appointment today I found out that my cervix is thinning, Seth has finally dropped, and I am about a fingertip dilated! So progress is being made, which makes me really happy! And that also explains the things I have been feeling. However, Dr. Murphy did say that if I haven’t gone into labor by my appointment next week we can talk about scheduling an induction so I don’t have to go over my due date too much. I really hope I don’t have to go that route because of course I would like for things to occur naturally. But I am at the point now that I am quite uncomfortable, sick of feeling swollen everywhere, and I just want to meet my son!

35 Week Checkup

Tuesday I had my follow-up appointment. My blood pressure was perfect and my swelling was basically gone. I got the ok to officially ‘do’ things again, which is a big relieve because I have a really hard time sitting and relaxing – unless it’s on my own terms. I’m making sure to drink lots of water (lately 3 liters or more) and only water, and still take small breaks out of my day to get off my feet to prevent the swelling from coming back. So far so good!

Dr. Murphy also said that little Seth is weighing in at about 5-5 1/2 pounds. Not so little anymore! And I can definitely feel that he’s running out of space! It’s getting more difficult to breathe and more uncomfortable bending over my hard belly. I just have a feeling that this baby will show up sooner than 5 weeks!
